Redundancy

Well this happened last friday- but I've been franticly trying to find other work since. Alas there's sfa out there.
Unemployment here I come-  Got a week and a bit left of work- my boss is desperately trying to get funding to keep me on. Spending cuts have been brutal

studied as a building surveyor- ideal qualification to have at the moment- Struggling to get any firms looking to take anyone on to do their APC- the route id like to take to become charted.

However at the moment I'm a digital imaging consultant - again a niech- Specialising in digital mapping GIS systems etc.

I was made redundant a couple of years ago ,after 21 years in the same job. It's a scarey feeling. But 2 years down the road I'm in a more secure better paying job. There is light at the end of the tunnel so try and keep positive. Something will turn up

I feel your pain. Went through it myself a couple of years back. What surprised me most was just how long the process took from applying to starting a new job.

But stay positive and something will turn up. In my case the pay is lower but overall I'm much happier than I've been in years and I've knocked about 250 miles a week off my commute which helps the finances and makes winter less of a chore.
