Hi blokes and girls I have received my log book from DVLA my reg plate tells me one thing the log book tells me another the bike was registered in 2004 but on log book shown as a K3   can anyone explain this please

A common thing, bikes made and shipped into the UK in 2003 are K3, sat in dealers (or Suzuki warehouse) until sold in 2004, so you have a K3 on a 2004 plate. Happens to loads of bikes, mostly because manufacturers change designations every year K3, K4 etc.

Later models are also prone to this, you get a lot of K6's registered late. One of the blokes in the local M/C club has a 58 plate K6 Vee! Looks the same as my K7 though.

Not really an issue unless you were originally sold a "2003" model as a "2004".

arrr no I get it I didn't find out its a k3 till log book turned up but never mind its running well now I fitted S-TRE pulls well through all the gear but still have that niggle in the back of my mind have I cut off my nose to spite my face have I lost anything now the lovelly little green O/D light doesn't come on for instance I will be doing a tower to tower run in may from blackpool tower to eifiel tower would the O/D increase the fuel economy any thoughts

Mines an 08 registerd K7 - as said above very common.
As to the TRE - all you have lost is the light that tells you that you are in 6th. No effect on economy at all apart from a miniscule increase due to running slightly richer in the lower gears. So, no worries!

k6 model first registered june 07- just a bit of a bugger if it was a k7 I'd have abs on the sucker. but then again I didn't pay the new price tag. or put all the other little add on on it!
