Meh, it's to do with me being South African and having a work permit. The long version is really boring :sleeping-yellow:

It ticked over 90k miles this Monday on the way to work is the miserable pouring rain.

It's still going strong, but I've taken next week off work to spend a bit of time on little things around the house and the bike. Going to replace swingarm bearings (the ones I haven't done yet) and the steering bearings. Other than that it will get a valve check and I'm considering replacing the cam chain, but I have to look into that first. Will get the usual done to it as well, such as TB sync. Need to wire in my new heated grips with the weather having changed to cold again. I also need to replace my clutch perch that I fooked up recently (stripped the thread for the clamp.) Have a few other random bits and bobs to do, but as far as I'm concerned it will probably do many more trouble free miles.

61k of the miles on it were done by myself since I started riding it in May 2010, just about 2 years ago. I expect at least that much more from it.

I take it you will refrain from making posts about side stands and centre stands, seeing as that kind of mileage means you never use one and don't have any relevant experience ?

:neen:

Other than that, roll on 100K !

Just heard today that the company will move me from the Reading office to Telford office. This will happen in August and I will be moving from Warwick to Rugby in August as well. I'll then be living ~60 miles from work instead of ~92 miles. I will have to ride between Rugby and Telford in the start and either decide if I will keep riding or find a room there (I currently rent a room in Reading in the week.) So long story short, my mileage will pickup again in the short term, though not back to how high it was. If I decide to get a room there my weekly mileage will be even less than it is now. 100k will probably come soon because of these new developments.

I had the dates wrong, it's not August, it's from October that I'm going to be working from Telford. I only have to tell them by August if I decide to stay or go. I haven't decided if the later date is good or bad news yet.

Ticked over to 100 000 this morning on the way to work! As promised, photos at 99 999 and 100 000, just because it's not something you see often. Anyone who says a Strom isn't reliable don't know what they're talking about :old:

Do you think I can go higher than 5000rpm? It should be run in by now?

:occasion-balloons:  Well done that [s:3rvgqwa8]Man[/s:3rvgqwa8] Bike :occasion-balloons:

Here's to the next 100k!

And there's me thinking about selling the Strom @ 36k miles as it's getting a bit high now and I just got given a Deauville 700.

Think I'll keep the strom and in about a decade I'll have killed it and will be ready to take the Doh out of the deep freezer.  :shy:

(There is apparently a bloke in West Wales with a K5 (blue) strom on over 90k, it's on the original clutch even though it was used long term as a learner bike in a school. It's lost 5th gear but the owner wants to make it to 100k before having to open up the engine to sort the gearbox.)

I know of about five other people on Wees that have exceeded 100,000 miles. They are playing catch up to Wera688's Vee with over 250,000 miles. http://www.stromtrooper.com/dl-1000-%5B ... te-up.html

All have accomplished a lot.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s
