MOT  passed today.  My dad had one of these when I was a kid,  I used to go fishing with him on it with all our stuff.  Loved riding it today.  Mine's the blue one  :lala:

On the B871 near to the most remote hotel in the UK, that's the Garvault Hotels' statement. Welcome lack of traffic unlike the NC500 in the area.

Sunny spot Aldeburgh

Filled the tank and topped up my spirits with a sunny ride to Aldeburgh. Wouldn't normally post it but I thought the picture looked OK.
Original seat is black and yellow, swapped for a dark grey; but didn't stop a large bumble bee checking the bike out for quite some time (made me smile). Good job it didn't try and mate with my "bee-strom" otherwise I'd have had a puncture to contend with.  :smirk:

Enjoyed the last ride of the year, decided to end on a high and winterise here this weekend. Gave the bike a good clean, will now start taking it apart as I have a number of jobs that are required... new tyres, bearings, exhaust, re-powder coat the rear frame, centre stand, change all the fluids... the list goes on! I used to ride all year round but since the pandemic I work mainly at home, so the few days I do commute I just use the car so might as well use the winter months to get the work done (at a leisurely rate) and keep the corrosive salts off.

Nice bike, worth looking after.  Preventative maintenance is the way to go. :thumb:

@Graingerblaze, in a world of so much daft beakiness, it is refreshing to see such a nice example of a proper V-Strom  :thumb:

Thank you Fat Rat, I think they got it right first time so I personally like the looks and like you, I don’t like beaks.

I keep thinking about changing but I can’t bring myself to sell such a sorted bike. I know every inch of it and it’s history, so can’t risk buying a newer version which probably won’t have been cared for as much… my OCD can be quite annoying. Will have to save the pennies and just buy new when I do change, but that won’t be for years!

I'm with you, I find it hard to trade the devil I know (inside and out) for the devil I don't.
Also, modern bikes don't turn enough of their petrol into burble for my liking :)
