Front Speed sensor
« on: April 03, 2025, 09:48:25 »
Hello fellow Stromers.
I have a 650AL 2018.
As anybody had this problem.abs and TC and engine management light stay on and the speed is reading 0 with an F1 code. I have
A sneaky feeling it's the front speed and ABS sensor. Anybody else had this 🤔

The speedo does read from the front wheel on the 2017 on 650's and the 2014 on 1000's.
So remove the sensor, give it a clean, check the gap and check the abs ring.
On my 1000, nothing worked after replacing the front tyre, the fitter had bent the abs ring slightly but there was no code so yours might be a sensor fault.

Although it may be an ABS sensor fault it's the FI (fault indication) light that needs to be sorted. I'm sure all the dash lights stay on with that showing to bring your attention to it?
This link will show you how to put your bike into 'dealer mode' & then read the fault code.
Once you have got the fault code you will know where to start looking for the problem.

There is also a check to find out what the specific ABS fault is,using a link wire on a different plug. You then switch on the ignition and the ABS light flashes a code to tell you what the specific fault on the ABS is.Keep watching after the first code has flashed as there can be more than 1 fault.I cannot remember which plug it is as it has been some time since I used it.Sorry.
