New purchase. looking for crash bars.
« on: December 17, 2023, 16:12:32 »
Hi all. First post other than my introduction post, so please be gentle. :)
Been out today and put a deposit on a 2022 plate 650. The bike is stock, other than the factory plastic
sump/filter guard has been fitted.
I've been searching "crash bars" but I can't seem to find the answer to my question and am hoping someone on here can help.
What I would like to know is, which brand(s) of crash bars will fit with the standard Suzuki sump guard installed
without any modifications to either guards?

TIA buzzwold

Givi fit with no mods. These also have an extra protector on both sides, I wasn't convinced one would do the trick.
Hope it helps.

Cheers Upt,
I've been looking online for Givi bars but have only found one seller in UK who "might" have them in stock. I say "might" because customer reviews are bad for the seller, appears he shows items as "in stock" but doesn't actually have them a lot of the time.
Also trying to figure out cost of Heed bars with tax and duty.

Mine came from somewhere in N.I.
They were difficult to get hold of, really can't think why, but they were.
These seemed to have been in sock a good while because they weren't listed for 2017+ on the packaging.
But all was good.

SW Motech are worth getting. I’ve had Givi, other than vibes they were OK. Heed were better made and less vibes, but the best so far have been SW Motech. They do cost more, but the quality is excellent and absolutely no vibes due to the way they link and bolt together. Sportsbikeshop have them in stock  :)

Cheers for the replies folks.
I'll probably go with the sw motech bars. I did see the givi bars on the branded biker website
but the customer reviews of the business were not at all good.
Also looking at the Puig bars but not too many comments regarding these on the forum.

Thanks again.

Hello, I had this very quandary last summer and eventually went with the Heed bars for my 2023 650xt. Absolutely no regrets, the fit extremely well with no tweaking and I really like the ‘full wrap’ look that they provide.  Also, the side frame fixings are neat and, in my opinion, better looking than some of the others.  Finally, Heed also make an excellent bash guard, which I bought later and if that is an accessory that you would like to consider, then it’s wise to check compatibility between engine bar manufacturers.  I have had no issues with any vibration with the bars or engine bash plate fitted, but there are quite a few blokes on here that have and there are some very helpful suggestions within the forum.  Good luck with your eventual choice.

Cheers, Tim

I've gone with the sw motech ones, also sw motech centre stand and barkbusters handguards.
By buying all items from 1 dealer on ebay, I got a £25 discount off total price which helps.
