Quick shifters are great and sound better than some clutch changes. I had one on the 765 Triumph and thought it was silly and then used it all the time from the second day onwards. Keep the throttle open for upward changes and close the throttle for down.
All good but how many miles did you do on the Triumph?

Good point Nigel. I didn't have the bike long due to it's criminal attacks on by back. But I did ride it to Penrith and back with a ride to Hexam etc.  on a four day jaunt. No, I can't say the gearbox would love it, but I can say that when mechanical parts are quiet and smooth in operation it generally means they not crunching themselves to the nackers yard. . None of my bikes have a quick shifter and if offered a choice of tech on them I'd go for Suzuki's hill start assist every time.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

A friend has had BMW s1000rr s since they came out ,and "uses" them.
Hearing  him come up to a bend  at speed using the down shifter is almost musical.
But he gets a new one every 2 years/10,000 miles so .....

don't know

I find it strange that Suzuki make most of the extras optional yet offer the quick shifter as standard?
Just wish they'd made the centre stand a standard fitment instead of it.

Agreed....a centre stand and 12V socket would be much more attractive to most buyers than the quickshifter. Having said that, I tried the 8S quickshifter on a test ride and was impressed - changes were much smoother than I expected. It's always a bit annoying having to stump up an extra £200+ for a centre stand on an 'adventure' bike.

Aren't you supposed to just lie adventure bikes down to fix them  :stirpot:
