1st ride
« on: September 29, 2023, 11:38:54 »
Just took my 2009 DL650 for it’s first run yesterday. I have to say what an great machine to ride - I love it (not in the same league as my previous ST1100 Pan of course but that was the best bike I ever owned bar none - just got too heavy for this aging pensioner🤣)
Reckon this will be the last bike I own and what a fitting end to a riding career lasting 60 years. When this goes I will be retiring to 4 wheels - but not before I have a blast on it!!🤣🤣🤣 Safe riding blokes👍
1st bike - James with 197cc Villiers engine (yes I’m old🤣)

Cracking choice, the Gen1s still look great.

* Those pannier reflectors will keep you safer pointing backwards ;)

Looking good and enjoy  :auto-dirtbike:

don't make it your last bike though. Plenty of smaller/lighter bikes out there if the Strom gets too heavy.

 lol

I was thinking more lightweight 250-400cc or even 650 cruisers, but two wheels is two wheels  :thumb:

That backward pannier issue is really common on that model.
