Shortening centre stand
« on: September 21, 2023, 13:17:03 »
I’ve just been wondering if anyone has successfully shortened their centre stand.

I lowered my bike quite a few years ago and it fits perfectly for me.

I cut and welded the side stand.

As I am stripping my bike down quite a lot for a full going over and I am fed up popping my eyeballs out every time I have to put it on the centre stand. I was wondering if any of you have been successful in this endeavour.

Cheers

Ian

Just a thought if you're handy with a welder - maybe add an inch to the centre stand fulcrum. Might be a starter for 10 without compromising the centre stand structure  :fix:

As I am not that tall or heavy and I struggle to get my 650 on the centre stand then someone told me to roll the back wheel on to a 1" bit of wood and now it is easy to get on the stand  :thumb:

Thanks for the replies.

I’ve just taken my centre stand off to have a proper look see and it has fallen into the much to difficult category.

So great idea I will be getting myself a piece of wood.

Cheers
