Help needed please
« on: August 16, 2023, 18:15:43 »
last few days I've had the FI light come on, finally managed to get the code C17 (Intake Air Pressure Sensor (IAPS) - 07 & Up 650 Only) but mine is a 2015 1000.
is it the same? is it easy to spot? and finally...is it easy to repair?

thanks peeps

It maybe be attached to your airbox somewhere and they are not repairable items.

Check connection is solid with no broken wires.

Is your bike running OK..?

Yes seems to run fine, fi light doesn't show all the time. Even when it does, just a little snatchy and clears every time I switch off and on

Have you got a TRE fitted?
Random I know but I had similar issues on my Vee a few years back. Once removed it was all fine again. Not sure what failed in mine but I replaced it with another and it was all good.

I had this problem and had to take it to a Suzuki dealership in the end, it was the sensor boost 18590-32G00 that was faulty.

I searched ebay and couldn't find a second hand one for my model and fowlers didn't have stock, so had to bite the bullet and pay £251 for sensor + labour, but after watching them change it, I could of done it myself.

The mechanic told me that C17 is the front sensor (blue cover on wire) and C13 is the back sensor, if you swap them round the fault moved. He also said sometimes the vacuum pipe can cause the problem and is worth checking before replacing the sensor.

My bike is a 2016 Veek, hope this helps.

Enquiring mind wants to know.... I looked at the parts list to try locate the said pipe, but wasn't sure.
Which pipe was split?  Did you snap a pix of the faulty pipe?

no I didn't, sorry, but it went from the front throttle body (near the bottom of course, just to make it a little more difficult) to the sensor on the air box. it was split at the throttle body end

I wonder what caused the hose to split.
Where you able to trim back or have to replace the hose?

Glad you got it sorted and it was only the vacuum hose.
