I know this subject has been discussed before but I have tried search and can't find it.I have the Garmin 350lm and as has happened before it has stopped charging on the bike,The last time I hassled Garmin and they gave me a new cable and its been fine for 18 months or so,Yet  again its started to stop charging intermittently when in use, I know its the two pins with the weak springs so has anyone actually solved this problem with out just buying a new cable ? or has any one unlike me had the sense to keep the faulty cable so it could be looked at properly?thanks for any help.

I just sprayed the pins with gt85, worked them free and then smeared a little grease on them and worked into the pin ports. I've done the same on my TomTom mounts as well.
If the springs have actually failed then no dice as far as I know.

I agree - mine used to do the same on my 345lm - I used to wd40 the pins and just keep pressing them in and out to lubricate and then they would be fine for 12months. Just kept doing this for years and always worked fine.

Ditto above.

And when putting on the rubber cover do it parallel so as to not force the pins upwards when they enter the holes on the cover.

I use a smear of GT85 on the pins every now & then & never had a problem. However I treat those pins like the pins in a lock (where I wouldn't use GT85) so I also spray them with contact cleaner before applying the GT85 to clean out any dust/dirt that's collected.
I also put  the cover over the mount & pins if the Sat Nav isn't mounted.

thanks lads, I have kept mine going with the spray lubricants I just wondered if any one had actually cut one open and done a permanent fix I did read someone had put a grommet on the pin to stop it sliding in but as the pins are that short it must of been a small grommet.its just annoying as it always seems to happen when your in spain or somewhere far away.
