Thanks for the offer but to be honest it doesn't look much further out than the hinges on the box. Why did the misses not like it?

A jacket with back armour will improve comfort (as well as safety in an off) and the pad will then add support to remove the ridge.
My other half liked the back support on our trekker top box.

Bingo, she didn't like it because she felt it pushed her forward too much. Rather than sitting upright, or slightly back, it made her lean forward. If the plate to move the box back a bit is available, that might make it better, but we didn't try it.
Like I said, you're welcome to try it & post it back if it doesn't work for your good lady.  :)

Thanks Mick. When I get the bike here which will be the end of next week ill stick a small rolled up towel to emulate the backrest behind her. See what its like and ill see also if the box will move back. If its OK ill let you know and ill probably take you up on your offer for that back rest. Thanks

Yes they are, if you look at the third photo in post #36 above you will see them, loosely screwed in, so as not to lose them.  :)

I put the BV350 ST scooter on FB Market place late last night and it was sold by lunchtime today!  Well bloke left a £250 deposit in cash.

Bit of an update. Big scoot went yesterday, the Strom 650 arrived today.  I had to run the seller back to East Yorkshire so just got back. All I managed to do this afternoon was see if I could get it down my loose stone drive back into the garage which if you remember I was worried about with my knees.  Managed it but it was quite a handful. Ill get better at it I am sure but I really struggled in the cramped garage space to get it on the centre stand. Ill figure that one out also.

Will try Mrs Bingo on the back tomorrow to see if Micks backrest will be suitable then get that sorted and hopefully, finally a ride out!!!!

Just a further update. Got a few good rides out on Saturday both on my own and with Michelle on the back. Love it!  Figured out the centre stand. You need to lift from the grab rails as well as put all your weight on the stand. I was heaving the handle bars like a prat.

Barbel Mick. sent you a PM regarding the back rest.

Of course winter has now returned for the foreseeable but at least I am sorted now for the Spring and summer ahead!  Really pleased. Bike handles nicely, seems to be able to cope with any kind of surface well and certainly has ample power.

A few pics.

Great pictures, nice place and nice bike. Was the Mrs camera shy?  :thumb:

I like the auxiliary lights. They give presence and I guess give good light to the road ahead.

Yeah she isn't keen on being in the photo.  Really pleased with the bike. Came with loads of extras, panniers, heated grips and even a Sat Nav.  A load of other stuff that I know not what it does.  The screen and mirrors are great though. No buffeting at all even at high speed. I even had my visor up at 85 and it was fine.

lol!  I think I will need to watch myself on this. As said I graduated from a Piaggio BV350 scooter with a Leo Vince exhaust. Sounded like it was really fast and to be fair it didn't half shift for a scooter but you knew you were doing 80 on that.  I thought there was something up with the speedo on the strom until I looked at the GPS which was a couple of MPH lower.  I had to do a speed awareness course in the Pandemic via zoom. It was actually a good laugh but I don't want another one, or worse.

Just my 2 bobs worth. Auxiliary lights are great, but not for the bloke in front of you if riding out with others. I find they can be distracting. I had them on my previous bike, Honda 700 Transalp and only used them when filtering through traffic or when foggy.
I don't drink anymore, unfortunately I don't drink any less either. 😞

Received Barbel Micks Givi back rest today. I would like to say I fitted it myself but I just took it straight round to my engineer next door neighbour and dumped the box and back rest on his kitchen table.  :)

Seems fine. Too cold for Michelle to go out on it she says but she sat on it and reckons it felt fine. Do you like my tidy garage? I call it room 101.

Leave the garage as it is. It looks to me like you are ready for the next apocalypse. You will need everything in that garage and those who don't keep a garage like it will be wanting.  :thumb:  :)

lol! I can't believe it. I cleared it out two years ago to make room for a second bike. Where does all this stuff come from?

You can never have enough cardboard boxes I say. Just in case (of something)
