On my k6 Wee I had the standard screen mounted on a Madstad bracket, which worked well.

I'm not a fan of big screens and I don't like having to lock through them.

On the Varadero I have a standard Screen or a MRA Vario screen (CBF100 version that's 3" shorter than the Varadero) I have a palmer products mount, that is cheaper and as well made as the Madstad but half the price since the Madstad cost went through the roof.

I did have a tall givi touring screen, which wouldn't have been that bad apart from it was tinted and nightmare at night.

I have a Puig screen with a spoiler on my 2015 650. I'm 6'2" and have a standard seat and I'm very happy with it. I haven't had any other screen on it to compare, but it's much better than my old Deauville that had a touring screen on it.

I had the MRA Vario on the 1000 and put the Suzuki touring screen, which is an MRA look alike, on the 650 when I bought it. I'm 6'. Very happy with both.

Height is purely personal obviously but I will say the MRA stuff is very well put together, the screens are solid as a rock even at speed and the ratchet mechanism on the Vario spoiler is really positive whilst still being easy to adjust one handed whilst riding. I am a sucker for a tinted screen as well. My bike came with a standard height MRA vario but I've changed to the touring height Vario and that works really well for me at 6'2".
Only downside as some have mentioned is the loss of cooling airflow when the mercury goes stratospheric, this can be fixed by riding through all towns and villages stood up though :)

Don't start me on standing up!

Thanks Boys I'm feeling very informed, I might even make a decision, although there's no rush, the roads are a horrible mix of farmers mud, salt, puddles and pot holes up here in salty paradise.

Just checked on the Palmer information.
Unfortunately there's nothing for later models, you'd have thought they might have tooled up for post 2017 by now.

Givi airflow on my L4, almost as low as it will go allows 70mph cruising with a small amount of buffeting. At 65 there’s practically nothing, and I can ride with the visor up. I’m 5’ 11”, with a long leg.
This works well for me, but as you say, we’re all different.
Quiet applause will do.

I'm of the opinion that by adding a accessory shelf, it would help to reduce the buffeting.
Try for yourself by tucking a towel or similar into the area that the shelf would mount and determine for yourself whether adding a shelf would help reduce the buffeting.  I have read of someone on the Stromtrooper site, who tested this theory by using a thickish sponge to block the updraft.
Just make sure that you have free movement of the handlebars after you block off the updraft.
The attached pix shows a shelf mounted on a 1st gen V-Strom, https://www.cosmo-accessories.com/brands-2/Suzuki/dl-650-v-strom-2004-2011/DL650-vstrom-auxiliary-shelf-handlebar-usb-12v-voltmeter-detail and https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;ts=1656072298;topic=41208.0;attach=22389;image

Really not sure if I've posted this before ....
100% buffet and noise free screen, tried standard and aerofoil givi type and this is brilliant ...£80 and British .. ish ... Powerbronze.

Free standard and Givi aerofoil screens to anyone that will pay the meagre P&P.
