As I’m about to purchase a 1050xt I’m finding a lot out about the clutch amongst other things.
Do yourself a favour and go on the werx website - you know, the US company that modify the Vstrom clutch baskets.
There is an excellent, detailed video showing how to dismantle the clutch and re-assemble.
No, the water pump can remain part of the clutch cover, no need to dissemble it.
Interestingly, the mechanic said that he’s never, ever seen a Vstrom in need of new clutch plates as they are so long lasting and that replacing them is a waste of cash!
What is your reason for replacing them?
