Well done. Pester your local dealers for as many test rides on as many different as you decently can. Be open minded. Be aware of the increased weight, height and power of a 650 Vstrom. Have fun

Crash bars are a must. The closest I have come to dropping (laying down) my 650 was stationary. They are a must in my opinion. Have fun on your new bike but take it easy and get to know what it and you can and can't do. You will enjoy the bike because it's a really good set up, at an affordable price and do anything that most motorcyclist really need and help keep your licence clean.

Well done, the 650 V-twin is a great engine and even back in 2009 the place that I used to get my licence had a fleet of Gladius 650's as they were very forgiving and user friendly to all the new riders.

Crash bars are a must.
Thanks The Doctor, sound advice, and yes, I’m looking at the full set of bars, just to be sure!
I definitely will take care for some time 😀

Well done, my lad fitted crash bars ( I never liked the thought, but they look good)Givi bars, fixed on the engine mounts, not the central bar that holds the engine together. Only issue we had was the spacer where the bars join were 3.5mm too long, saw and file later = no vibration!
