Klv1000
« on: July 15, 2022, 00:36:59 »
Hello I've just bought a klv1000 2005 and I love the old comfy lump I'm having a issue with a flat spot at 2500-2800 I believe the DL1000 is the same bike will a power commander from that work on my klv1000?? I've spoke to dynojet they won't commit to saying yes.  Or has anyone got a PC for sale I've tried everywhere no luck thanks any advice would be cool thanks 👍

A power commander with a custom map should iron out any issues as long as everything else is OK

I owned a 2006 1000 with a flat spot, tried all sorts to make it dissappear and once id fitted a PCIII with a custom map all was sorted.

I don't see why not , it's an identical bike apart from the colour scheme and the kawasaki badge.

IIRC the vin plates were usually stamped "Suzuki"

I have a standard TRE without the gear indicator which came fitted to my DL1000 when I bought it. Welcome to it to see if it makes a difference for you as I didn't much care for it.

Pop your address in a DM and I'll stick it in the post next week. It's tiny so no worries on postage cost and it's a super easy fit and remove just to see if it improves things for you.

You may not need a power commander at all, the injection on the early ones can be adjusted pretty easily, you just need to find a dealer with what's known as a "Yoshi Box". Only takes a few  minutes, cost me £20 or so. The system is quite sensitive so it took a couple of attempts to get mine perfect

If not already done, a proper throttle body sync is a good idea as well. Yes the lean spot is still there but it smoothed mine out massively.
