I am rarely speechless but.....
« on: May 29, 2022, 21:48:35 »
Hi Bikers campsite,

I had a booking with you today in a cabin but due to my role as a 999 call handler and the unexpected increase in call volumes, the booking slipped my mind. This lapse is of course no ones fault but my own.

However, the lack of any form of communication from you as to query if I would be attending or not is disappointing to say  the least.

It comes across to me as a case of once you have taken payment from a customer you then cease any further involvement.

I will not be recommending your campsite to my local biking club.

I think I wondered in another post today if it was April the 1st. Apparently it is ...........

Some people...  :icon_no:

I'm often blamed for not reminding people that their MOTs have expired and not bending over backwards to make sure they get an MOT that day .....  :violence-smack:

Andy ... surely you replied with your usual enthusiastic wit and sarcasm, if so, do tell  :icon_wink:

Everytime I've booked with you I've received a confirmation email... that's generally all you need  or expect.

But me recent camping trip to snowdonia I was getting emails everyday advising me of the covid restrictions in place, which had stopped being mandatory or even recormended over a month before.
Also multiple reminders to virtual check in immediately upon receipt of the email - 2 weeks before the arrival date. Which I did, but still recieved daily emails asking me to do the same.

Maybe this is what they were expecting.

What a pompous pratt.
I wonder what his local club think of him?
"I am a 999 call handler"   He thinks that elevates him to sainthood, but I think he works in a call centre.
Obviously a "self importance overload".
Did he mean to say that he was so busy at work that he forgot to go on holiday and is blaming you for not reminding him?
:haha:   Hmmmm! he doesn't come across as being very clever does he?
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

I hope I don't have to remind him to call an Ambulance for me when the time comes.

Would you not have booked a day or two off to take a camping trip, how do you forget that?  I've never forgotten a day off.
I hope they don't get two 999 calls at one time, someone is going to be waiting, much longer than normal.

I ran this through the universal BS translator and this is the result:

Normal response these days.
I quite often get calls from customers “one of those tyres you fitted to my car has gone down” , when they were fitted months ago.
As I’ve got older I care even less.

The trick is to book the stay but then go to work and forget about it (allegedly).

Back in the '70s, when it was allowed, there was a joke about an Irishman who went to a restaurant,  ordered an expensive meal and sneaked out without eating it. Is his son a 999 call handler?

Or is this a scheme to obtain a refund / avoid payment.
In the Parent /  Child / Adult relationship, is he not playing the part of a Child
A child has little responsibility and will,  for example,  say he has done wrong, but then hopes to avoid  full responsibility by laying some of the blame on others. ( someone made me do it).
The Child personality can only succeed in this stategy if the Adult adopts the Parent personality and takes on the responsibility  that is rightly the Childs.  ( This is where you feel sorry for him and offer to solve the problem for him).
The Adult response is to insist the other party remove their cloak of Childishness and accept the consequences of their actions. You say "you owe me the money" or "you will not get a refund".
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.
