Best Online Parts.
« on: May 13, 2022, 17:57:59 »
Wondering if you fine chaps and chapesses could point me in the right direction for the best online oem Suzuki parts suppliers. Obviously for the best, I mean the cheapest.
The reason for asking is I went through the bike today like a dose of salts and found a brake hose clip on the lower yoke was missing. No bolt and no clip. I can't think it has been removed by anyone, maybe it's vibrated out. Maybe not.
Thanks in advance.

Have a look in the Member Benefits section for discount codes. Robinsons Foundry springs to mind  :thumb:

Depends what I'm ordering!

I've ordered a bunch of parts direct from Japan (https://japan.webike.net). The postage is steep, however, the prices prior to postage are much much lower than here in the UK. You have to also bear in mind you may have to pay VAT/Customs duty when it gets here though + couriers own fee for handling the customs charges  - I just keep a list of bits I need for mine / dads bike and order when it gets to an amount that makes it economical to post.

E.g. The coolant 3 way union on my bike is £60 here in the UK, £8 from Japan. Only replacing as it's corroded to buggery and it's an eyesore on an otherwise not too untidy bike now I've cleaned it up.

Otherwise I tend to find the OEM part number and search eBay, or use Wemoto (you can use the search feature to order OEM parts by part number, they stock some OEM parts though). Wemoto are spot on.

To just confirm the last order from Japan, made its way to me without VAT or customs duty being invoiced. £40 spent on parts (£23 odd parts, £17 postage) that would have totalled £115 from a UK supplier. Delivered in 3 days once they'd got the one part from the manufacturer as they'd gone out of stock

Didn't we sign some sort of trade deal with Japan recently?
Could this explain the duties etc?

Wemoto seems to be pretty good...Very quick delivery as well.

I ordered what I thought was an obsolete Honda part from Wemoto and they found it.

Could this explain the duties?

Could very well be, I didn't think it applied to stuff bought by consumers (just businesses exporting/importing goods), but as these parts are potentially made in Japan they could also meet the "origin" requirements for that trade agreement!
