I just used these lights from the auction site which you can get with a harness and switch.
They work well on a dark country lane, if I remember they are around £60.

There clamps allow for fitting around the crash bars.

Even cheaper eBay specials.  Work great though.

I bought some of these Pannier, but I noticed something! Mine were literally £12 (and bought more with a possible idea of modifying them). Do yours have the multiple modes (hi, lo, strobe?) When you switch them on/off?

The wire that came with mine seemed super thin, and current measuring 500mA.

Changing that wire to proper 0.5mm2 CSA now means the lights draw 1.5A and are noticeably brighter. This does need you to resolder the circuit board which might be a pain without a high power soldering iron - as for longevity with this mod - I can't say as mine aren't fitted yet!

Standard lights fitted to standard bars on the XT. Done by my local Suzuki dealer.
Cheers Ken

Yep, mine have the strobe mode, but as I leave them on most of the time they seem to stay in the static mode. I  check if I have turned them off and on again.  To be honest when they fail, I have a set of halogen spots that I bought for my BMW that I  think will look better.

If you're any good with a soldering iron, I've just fixed mine so that they revert back to 100% power after about 2 secs of being off, by soldering a 10K resistor across "C2". You can still flick through the modes if you're quick enough though, plus wired them in decent size cable. I'll buy some decent ones when these burn out  :dl_hyperhysteria:
