Big Feet…
« on: March 26, 2022, 22:23:59 »
I’ve got biggish feet (stand-fast women, it’s not true….) and with my boots on, I find the gear change on my 1000 awkward. I’ve raised it and lowered it but what I’m finding is that it’s a bit too short.

Where can I find a gear change that’s a bit longer, maybe half an inch or an inch…? Is there such a thing…?

Just the job. And then I saw the price…! Not cheap, are they.

Thanks for this. going to mull it over and even though I debate with myself about buying them - I know I will.

Thanks.

I also have biggish feet (and BTW it is true ), fitted the SW Motech lever on my 650 and all is good.

Big socks are great for keeping your hands warm in winter, though…

Could try https://www.adventuretech.biz/. They don't say what the shipping would be to the UK, but no doubt put it in the same ball park as the Motech stuff.

They have a link to this forum so can't be that bad  :smirk:

If you think the shift is a wee bit small, have a look at a KTM Adventure. You almost have to turn your boot sideways to get at it when I had a go on my mates.

I don’t really want to pay out any more money at the moment. Paid out enough already this week, so I’ll revisit the gear change - probably the Motech - later in the year.

I did some fiddling the other day and raised the gear change about 5mm which is a bit better but it’s still mildly annoying.

Mind you, Japanese do have small feet so I suppose they never thought about is clumsy westerners when designing the gear change.
