I'd check the website again. £75 looks like a fitting fee, not the complete price.

Indeed, check again, normally Sargent seat upgrades are many 100s ..

Yes, I'd put a 4 in front of that figure & you'd be closer to the mark, for a new one anyway and if you got a second hand one for that you'd be very lucky.

It would cost a lot less to have a gel insert to your own. It transforms the OEM seat to all day long cofortable.
I bought a used gel seat off this site, one of the best accssesories I have ever bought.  :thumb:

I've not the same bike but I've tried 3 seats now (Suzuki tall, shad, Sargent) with no real improvement, well 20-30 miles better before the discomfort sets in not the 100 miles I was looking for.
Tried a cheap Chinese airhawk but didn't like that either. Settled on removing the air cushion and fitting two 10mm thick cheap Chinese gel pads of ebay into the cover and that's been the best solution yet. Still use the Sargent seat, sold the Shad and still have the tall seat I use occasionally. I've spent far to much money and time on seats that I'd be put of ever buying an aftermarket seat again.

PowerParts Ergo seat. Good for 300+ mile jaunts. You'd need to buy a KTM to go underneath it, though

Our bodies are not supposed to be sat down for hours on end in one go anyway.
You don't need to change seat, just plan in more cafes on your routes  :thumb:

I’ve been using this seat cushion for almost 2 years (the mid range version with gel and air), its made a big difference for me and was a cheaper option than you a replacement seat.

My 2014, L4, 650 V Strom seat was the most comfortable seat I can remember on any of my bikes in recent years. I sold it 3yrs ago.
I went to look at a new, zero miles, 2021 reg, 650 V strom recently, as I was tempted by the looks of the bike, and a very good price, but on sitting on it, I found it very uncomfortable, sliding me forward towards the petrol tank, and it seemed hard as well. I did not ask for a test ride. The seat has definitely been altered ( not for the better for me ) since my 2014 model.

I have an airhawk. I find it gives no feedback as to what the bike is doing. yes I know it needs very little air in it. wil try again with it though.

My wife bought me an Airhawk. I really did try to get on with it and failed.
After about 4 years I noticed it was the square pillion offering *sigh*
I have a cheapo foam seat from AliExpress now and it works fine and adds a wee bit to my height above the pegs. All good, but could do with some more meat on my ar*e if truth be known ..

Anyone tried Moto Skiveez?  Basically a similar padded thing to cycle shorts, but redesigned to fit better for motorcyclists.  Seem to get good reviews.
