Got voluntary redundancy at work today. Picked up a big fat cheque - so shall I have a new bike or just buy lots of bling for the one I've got. :thumb:

Don't tell the Mrs though...........  lol

Rode to work - Pathfinder 2 - pheasants 0  [ it was early - 5.45 am ] ............ rode back in the pouring rain and heavy traffic  - Black Audi - one mirror glass cracked , my elbow slightly bruised  - he tried to get in the lane that I already occupied , and subsequently " incurred my displeasure " - bloody hell , it's a big fat blue BMW 1100 RT , and I was wearing a luminous yellow jacket with reflective strips !!
Lived to tell the tale though , and didn't fall off .

Next weekend I'm off to my mates near Hinckley to get some bolts drilled out so I can replace the exhaust gaskets  - being done by North Leicester Garage [ Italian bike specialists and proper bike engineers ] - we are taking the fairing panels off first , and riding to the bike shop with the bike looking a bit Mad Max like [ it will save labour costs and enable these to be fitted easier .........http://www.bikevis.com/motorcycle-led-r ... ights.html ] .

I filled her up this morning then from Hull went to Scunthorpe to see marc at cymarc engineering on a marvelous twisty road where I got my toe touching the tarmac on a left hander for the first time, from there I needed to go to
leeds so went there via back roads with help from my Zumo.then back home via a local biker cafe I must of done quite a few miles as the last hollow bar was flashing when I got home.

I just love riding my strom

did my 40 miles to work in glorious sunshine, with my visor full up and the bluetooth helmet playing mp3's from my mobile phone . (Could hardly hear it, was all tinny and wierd, but was still grand fun)

Rode home (40 miles)  , into the rain (bah , spoilsport)

Looking forward to going out for a run through choice tomorrow, rain or no rain.

After droping the last of the kids at school yesterday dinner time, myself and the good lady drac put another 70 miles on the clock.
Round derbys, leics, notts and staffs all in about 2hrs. Back just in time to pick kids up again and just before it started to pee it down for the weekend.
Thanks for 4 day weeks.
Just a note, the B road between ashby and hathern is a scream, think it goes further to melton mowbray, but ran outta time. if your in the area try it. :thumb:

Did nothing on my bike but did finish my new bike garage off so that's the end of Victor the v-strom standing outside with just a bike cover to keep him warm.

Cleaned and lubed the chain.

I REALLY hate chain maintenance and to top it off it started raining! ###  ###

Wakefield,Gainsborough,Market Weighton,Louth and Mablethorpe - last meeting for sand racing at Mablethorpe till they start again in October.
Lovely day, sat in the sun, on sea wall watching them belt round. From kids on mini bilkes, quads, scramble types and what look like full blown speedway bikes.
A good crowd and Mablethorpe welcomes bikers ( no plod in sight , nor a trafiic warden)  - its good business for the town in the winter.
Usual spills, one a bit bad needing helicopter to land on course to take rider to hospital.
Back home via Cleethorpes and Grimsby 180 miles.
If you get chance the sand racing is worth seeing - and its free !
