Leaving the forum, time for new bike
« on: November 07, 2020, 09:32:14 »
Hi to all.
After a lot of thinking I just couldn't accept new 1050.
I don't want to say it's bad bike but it simply doesn't fit my expectations and needs, in terms of wind protection, looks, quality of plastics, TFT etc.
I thought I'd stay with V-Strom bikes till the end of my biking life (in a decade or two) and I'm sad to find out it's not happening.
Ordered R1250GS and will leave my low mileage DL1000 '18 model at my local Suzuki dealer (friend of mine) to sell it.
It has been great pleasure sharing experiences with all of you people and I hope I helped the others as the others helped me.

I think it’s a crying shame to leave the forum just because you’ve changed your bike!  Like you, I didn’t gel with the 1050, so I’ve ordered a Triumph Tiger Gt Pro due in January.  Join Traitors' Corner and utilise an amazing source of motorcycling information that this forum supplies in abundance!  Enjoy the new bike!
Never too old to ride!

Best of luck with the new bike, but no need to say goodbye.  There's plenty of room in  :traitor:

Congrats on your new bike, I've owned various BM's over the last 25 years in fact just sold my 1100gs last month to a a bloke that wanted in his words an older classic bike.

When he came to buy it him and his partner were on a 5 week old 1250gsa rallye, lovely looking thing it was - anyway he emailed me last week to say how pleased he was with the 1100 and mentioned the 1250 was going back to the dealers as one of the inlet cams had failed.

Ironic really as when we were talking about bikes Id mentioned I had owned the 1100 for 11years and had no bother with it and he replied I only keep the new ones until the warranty runs out.

Enjoy your new bike. I'm OK with leaving the Forum - I've done it twice and returned with a new DL both times! I bet you'll be back. It's the lure of Suzuki....you'll see!!

That was another KTM failure  :lala: There's also good reason the Police use the BMW's.
