lock change oem 35L rear box
« on: November 03, 2020, 15:16:05 »
need to change the lock to my oem rear box to the new bike. Anyone know how to do this easily before I butcher the job with plyers?

If it has two wheels.. I'll ride it.

It should be something similar to this:

I modified my Givi topbox lock to match the same key used on my panniers.
So how's it going so far then?

I'm just being nosy,  but why do you have to change it?

cos I traded the previous bike in and gave them both keys. The new bike has different keys but came with 3 spare locks. Hence the need to switch the box lock for the new keyset.

Joe - txs - very close. the 35L OEM box has a different end fitting, bit like a t-bar and requires a T10 torx to undo two tiny screws that releases the barrel. All sorted now. schweeet!

Hello rusty - yes bike is all new but I kept the '17 rear box and mounting plate - hence lock change.
If it has two wheels.. I'll ride it.

I thought it was all new, box and all. That's why I was curious.
