DL1000 XT Under seat storage
« on: July 18, 2020, 10:13:12 »
There is not a lot of space under the seat of the 2019 V-strom 1000 XT , but I do like to carry a few more tools that those provided in the Suzuki tool kit, after much searching I manged to find this pouch that  can be squeezed under the tail light space

Don't knock it, it's just the thing for lubing ear plugs which after five or six hours can be painful on the old lugs.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

I removed charcoal canister bellow the seat with all the tubing and run oil vapor down to the floor, just like it was on my previous '14 DL1000. I also plugged the vacuum line. Done it 2,5 years ago when the bike was new and have never had any issue. The bike runs like a dream.

I've just dispensed with the canister under the KTM seat. Can now store tool kit, air pump, pressure gauge, dynaplugs, cable ties and a small roll of gaffa tape.
