Are they rated at 15W or 125W draw as there's a significant difference in the current values.

It may be one of my pet peeves - they draw 15w but output an alleged equivalent to 125w halogens. A ridiculous way to advertise. Why not say 15watts, xxx lumens. A 60w house light bulb is not a true indication of light output, it's what we got used to over the years, but all it really tells us is how much power it consumes.

Watts = volts x amps should you want to work out the consumption in amps  :thumb:

The stator wattage output is a fixed value and can't be exceeded. To calculate what the unused wattage, that one has for accessories, you need to understand what the wattage allocation is for the bike to function before adding accessories. The thread https://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=37619.0 makes for good reading for understanding these figures. See reply #3 for a breakdown of possible wattage draw. The list is incomplete but it does help explain where the stator wattage is allocated to.

So is that 15w per light?
And the question is what fuse is required to power up 15W (or 30W)
And there again what guage wire? Given that the fuse is there to protect the wiring and the battery. If the wires are too thin to take the load they will get vey hot, then melt off the insulation and set the bike on fire.
I usually wire up accessories with too heavy wiring , just to be sure, and start with a 2 amp fuse which I uprate if it cannot bear the load.
It's not scientific but for a numpty like me it has worked OK so far.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

I would GUESS that it's 15 watts per light unit for a total of 30 watts?????
30 watts at 12 volts is 2.5 amps. I'd put a 5 amp fuse in.
That is what I would do....you do what you see fit, I will not be held responsible for any damage to your motorcycle or accessories.  :)

@ Brocket, when you buy these things you do hope that any wiring etc that comes with them is adequate for use. Any additional wiring/switches fitted by me I will do the same as you and go that little bit more to make sure.
