Side Stand Switch Cable Routing
« on: June 14, 2020, 14:14:31 »
My V-Strom has had wiring harness warranty recall completed that was missing from 4 years ago.

Cleaning away the dried on dirt from the damp ride to the dealer, I noticed that the side stand cable has been "optimistically" routed and one of the cable clips has come loose.

What is the correct routing for the cable please?

It looks to me like the clamp was overlooked during assembly. Perhaps someone with the same model as yours can snap a pix of the clamp to show how / where it is attached. The service manual, if you have one, should show this info as well.

If it's the same as my 08 model then it's like this. Hope it helps.

Cool - Thanks. That is what I ended up with.

I think I need to get the tank off. Some of the cable runs the dealer has done see a little odd.
