AL7 Torque settings
« on: May 12, 2020, 13:21:57 »
Hi all,

Waiting for the final bits to come this week so I can finish off the chain and sprockets on the strom... the original chain was nearly 3 years old and managed a whopping 4 thousand miles, partly due to my laziness after the New Years Eve ride

Please could one of you fine gentlemen enlighten me on the torque values for:
  • Rear sprocket to hub
  • Front sprocket nut
  • Rear spindle

I normally just do it by feel but I should get into the habit of using the torque wrench.

Thanks!
tinker, tweek, fettle....bodge, bang, bugger!!!

Check the downloads section for a Service Manual.

  • Rear sprocket to hub - 0.4an ugga duggas
  • Front sprocket nut - 2.5 ugga duggas
  • Rear spindle - 1.25 ugga duggas

Hope that helps.

The service manuals lie!

Josh after all these years you need torque values for your bike.

Cheers Nath, I only work in ugga duggas

Oops sorry, I thought I'd mentioned it   :shy:

End of last year I swapped on the tenere for a 2017 650, was absolutely immaculate with just 3500miles on the clock. So far I've got heated grips on and a Cosmo centre stand and satnav bracket. It's a real nice thing and even the beak is growing on me :)

I'd forgotten how lovely they were to ride and I gave him the ten and 300 quid, couldn't say no really. Although I'd also forgotten just had bad the finish is after the Yam. She will need a little spruce up over next winter (centre stand, some bracketry) but it's lovely to ride :)

I'm sure you posted your return a few weeks ago. I can't think what could have got in the way of that news.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Does Josh have a new 'bike?

This is the first time I have heard this news, please tell us more and provide photographic evidence.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Josh, you're not going mad. Lockdown (or age  :old: ) is affecting people's memories...

Although you do say you like the beak so maybe lockdown is getting to you too...  :stirpot:
