Being a tight arse I bought a used PC111 USB for K8 Vee. (Think I paid about £80 off Fleabay). Fitting was easy and straight forward until the issue of the Oxygen Sensor fitted to UK bikes cropped up. The downloadable maps on the PC site only has four for European spec. All European bikes have an O2 sensor fitted as standard. One map for a standard bike with it's O2 sensor connected and the rest with it disabled including two where things like the air filter and exhausts have been changed. I don't know what other maps are available for later PC versions. Disabling the O2 sensor was where the fun began. At that time I couldn't find anyone selling a simple disabling plug to fit into the O2 wires after I'd disconnected it, which meant I then had to disconnect a wire from the bike's ECU to stop an error message popping up on the dash. It turned out that there are at least two wiring systems used on my year bike and it took a lot of rummaging around to find the right wire to pull. PC in the States couldn't help and I could find any PC centre in the UK that could give a proper answer. Got there in the end and it's been fine ever since. On the PC111 you can adjust fuelling using the buttons on it but the best way if you can afford it is to have it done by a proper PC centre on a rolling road. I fitted it to try and improve the fuel consumption, which it has done by just a few m.p.g. as I've always felt it ran over rich at low to middle r.p.m., which is contrary to the accepted view. The map I use has leaner settings than the standard one for the bike. The bike has a TRE on it, a pair of carbon fibre cans (that make it sound like a proper bike), and a BMC air filter. It runs very nicely and has no issues with low speed, chugging through towns and will happily run at 2,000 r.p.m. in lower gears without any issues. So all in all it was well worth fitting.
