Chain and Sprocket recommendations
« on: April 02, 2019, 19:13:19 »
Hi,

I sensing the sprocket and or chain need replacing through a knock felt through the foot pegs. Tightened chain and it made it worse and having felt this before replacing the chain and sprockets solved it. Bikes a 5 day a week 250 mile a week commuter.
Question is what is regarded as a hard wearing quality chain/sprocket. I think about 17k ago it was replaced with a DID option which I understood was more hard wearing/better quality?

Can anyone recommend something "premium"?

Thanks

Leky

D.I.D 525 ZVM-X X-ring

This set of DID chain and jt sprockets, always run first class for me. In my old Bandit 650 k7 I run aprox 50000 kms with this set, as your riding style, daily commuting and some large travels.
RK would be another option, but, in DID  brand the X-ring series is very reliable.
It's my personal experience.
Greetings

I'd second that  :thumb: DID make brilliant chains.

my original front sprocket and chain were changed at 48,000 kms. Rear sprocket was fine (but I'll keep an eye on it from this point on as I hope to be at 100,000 when I change this new DID chain and Suzuki OE front sprocket)

Could be the chain is too tight or in need of a good clean.
