Alarms are a pain in the posterior. My Datatool went faulty in lane 3 of the M1 and cut the engine. Would start up in neutral but cut the engine as soon as it was put in gear. I was extremely fortunate I was approaching the back of a queue and was able to push the Vee across 2 lanes of motorway to the verge.

 lol . I've made junk out of many alarm systems.

We once submerged one in a bucket of water to see how long it took to shut up,  It had a fault and wouldn't stop bleeping and lasted hours under water .

That's the best treatment for Datatool I have had them on three bikes and they have been nothing but trouble on all of them, unlike the Honda alarm on my Pan which has been faultless.
