bosnjo has unwittingly given us the joining instructions for the Portuguese Freemasons I fear....
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

I've always found my front brake only just OK... so just fitted a set of EBC double H front pads & found them a lot better...

IF the discs were treated during manufacture / shipping and not cleaned during preparation then the disc could have contaminated the pads.
Whilst the aforementioned "bosnjo" procedure is new to me, I always ensure, with a new bike, for the first 200 miles to apply brakes gently and never to hold the brakes on at a standstill if I can help it. This is what I was advised to do to reduce risk of warping disc rotors.  I've never had a warped disc. Could be pink elephant powder but .....
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Well, after many years as a car mechanic, I thought I knew a bit or two...
However, here is the professional explanation, very similar to mine:

Just as a side note, as I've had my pads contaminated, I had to make sure every little bit of old transfered material has been removed from the rotors.
Well, I guess each one of us has his own procedures how to treat the bike. I have mines...
As for this forum, the ones experience can be useful to somebody else but for somebody it probably can't...
As I said, I have my own way after 35 years of riding... I can share it or keep quit...

As I said, I'd never heard it described in quite the way you did. It's basically the same as what we all probably do, without the severe instructions on speed, number of repetitions, riding to a suitable area without using rhe new pads, etc...
Hawk seem to include these instructions with their pads. I can't remember seeing anything similar on any pads I've fitted - but we're blokes, we don't read instructions until something goes wrong. Don't stop sharing knowledge, it's what keeps a lot of us here. The good - natured gentle ribbing is part of the humour on here, don't take it personally.

Yes , general piss taking is the norm on this forum. Don't take it personally.  :thumb:.

Wear in new pads your own way , nothing wrong with that if it makes you happy.

Well I can see the science behind it....so armed with my wife's bottle of blue Curacao she got for Christmas and a bag of her makeup wipes I thought I'd give it a go.....I now sit here with a badly swollen face after taking the full force of her newly aquired Radley bag!!! When I told her I can't use the brakes for 6 miles a cheesy grin appeared?

Yes, Bosnjo, just a bit 'banter'   The ideal procedures sounded so complex, they were starting to seem like 'magical' , ritualised spells! Though, there is, of course, science behind them :thumb:

To put a bit of science into the thread and dispel at least some of the magic a lot of what is being described is called "scorching " where the surface of the pad is briefly heated to a very high temperature.
It is normally (should be) carried out during the manufacture of the brake pad.
Just Google it...

The full braking is performed by a friction between brake pads and transfer layer on the rotor, not rotor itself. That can´t be done at the factory, only during a process of bedding in your new pads.

Well if that’s the case why do discs wear out ?

And how often, when Joe Public has new pads fitted to his bike or car at his dealer, or Kwik Fit, or local independent garage, are the fitters going to do this? What are the consequences of not doing it?

It looks like I'm defending the theory I didn't invent.
Well, I'm not and I don't care.
So, I just won't bother.

What are the consequences of not doing it?

To the average rider ? None at all, the pads will bed in with gentle urban riding .
When I fit new pads to customers bikes I always advise them be extra careful for a few miles and for up to 50 miles extend your braking distances while the pads bed in.
