I believe Stroms made from 2007 have 2 spark plugs per cylinder
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

AHA!  :text-goodpost:

Well that would explain why the service kits I saw on eBay are being sold with 4 plugs!  That had me scratching my head yesterday when I was looking for parts.  So looks like I'll need to buy another two plugs - if I don't give it back.

Years ago I bought a CBR400 from a dealer. It was a grey import so first had to get UK registered and a reg plate fitted.
When the docs came the reg was a year older than the dealer had said it would be.
He knocked some money off as a gesture of goodwill.
I was happy though as the condition of the bike was so good, and worth it even without any discount.

I thought it was a 2007 - 2008 when I saw the black wheels. There is little difference between the 2007 - 2011 bikes mechanically, just a couple of cosmetic changes in 2009 (decals and wheel colour). It has a catalyst exhaust and ABS, so certainly not older than 2007.
Old enough to know better, but still too young to care...

Appreciate all the comments blokes, thank you.

I'm going to ask for some money back and keep the bike.  If that doesn't go down then I'll simply return it and have my money back in full.

Then I'll buy that lovely black DL1000 on eBay (in Dymchurch) for less than 3k.  :smirk:

I think I am correct in saying this,
The Dealer has a requirement in law to inform you of this, the fact that he has not gives you the right to reclaim your money and void the sale if you feel cheated, there are other bikes available for you to look at.

Look at the vin plate on the frame, the 10th character should be year of manufacture...

Well I wish you good luck in whatever you decide, but it the bike is a cracker and they do offer some money back it might still be worth considering, but do not be persuaded by any hype from them.

Had a chat with a lawyer at work today and there isn't really a lot I can do.  The reg. papers do show that it's not a 2010 model bike, it was just first registered in 2010.

However, he did notice that the contract is in the name of the deceased former owner and there is no evidence that anyone is entitled to sell it on his behalf, power of attorney.  It's signed on half of the deceased who may have wanted it left to his cat for all I know.

What a pickle.

With a problem like that it’s probably a good job you’ve found this forum where you can get excellent advice for free. The Admins can be quite strict but that results in probably the best VStrom forum there is.  (Other VStrom forums are available).

I'll finish off the rum, Martin. Think I'll need to for the 3rd part. To 'man up', as they say

Munchen I would go back to the Dealer and ask for a discount if you would like to have the bike,
re the sale of the bike for the widow if probate has taken place and any will has been read then it is hers to sell there may not be a problem but ask the Dealer while you are at it to check with the Widow
