What a Fecking shite year
« on: November 04, 2018, 17:46:26 »
This year I've laid my Mum to rest and in the past few weeks my Dad lost his brother .... 2 days before the funeral we had a phone call saying another of his brothers had died ..... today I had a phone call saying his last brother was taken to hospital and they were asking for a DNR form to be signed .... all this within 3 weeks ....so now we are going to be down to my dad and auntie left out of the family.

Obviously my dad is in bits, he hasn't become over the first brother going yet and all this on top of him trying to fight cancer.

What a shite world we live in.

That puts my shite year into perspective. Though losing my son in law to cancer last week at 38y.o. is quite bad enough.

It never rains but it pours and life really can be a bitch! I had a fairly major health scare 15 years ago that could have so easily went either way. Luckily I survived and my attitude to life completely changed. I don't plan too far in advance and try as far as possible to live life to the full. We never know what's waiting around the next corner.

So sorry to hear about your families grief.

You have my utmost sympathy Rich, this has been a challenging year.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

A storm of misfortune passes, inexplicably touching some and not others. Your real friends, both physical and digital, will stand by you, to listen and offer words of comfort in heartfelt sympathy.  I echo what has already been said and offer my best regards at this most difficult time.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can. Nothing travels faster than the speed of time.

Cheers people ... it's appreciated.

He is still with us just.... I went to see him in hospital yesterday and he doesn't look good .. we are waiting for test results to come back.
My dad is taking it really bad as you would expect.
