I mounted my old mobius camera to the right side of my helmet using the adhesive mount, which worked well until it died (not waterproof). Have since moved my camera to the throttle side crashbars. It's wired to record with the ignition.

I have mine permanently mounted on the left mirror mount, works well as a dash cam. I've got some footage if you want an idea of the view you get.

Thanks user650
Who’s camera and mount are you using?
I see you’ve got mirror extenders like me ,is the mount fixed to the
Handle bar or the mirror extender bolt?

Hi Zed 25
The case and the camera are the GoPro Hero 3 with a ram mount ball fitted. The other end is mounted on the mirror mount not on the extender, connected with a short ram arm. I've also put my Sony AS50 on this mount as well but mainly use that on my helmet.

I have a cheap GoPro knock off (SJ5000) which uses GoPro mounts. I've added a video of how it looks though following user650's video I might look at mounting it to the mirror at some point.

Thanks both of you for help and great video
Think permanent fixed and wired to the bike is the way to go

I've got a sj9000 cheap gopro copy on a bracket on the left hand side mirror mount.

Yes they can. Mine is wired via a usb cigarette socket to a Bigpie fuse box. The camera has a setting to turn on/off (dashcam) with the electrics.

@ UK_Vstrom650 I made the arm from some flat steel and bent it to shape the adjustable mount is a mount for a flash Adapter for a Camera.
@ Zed 25 as said above some but not all have the dashcam mode.

The mirror extenders were from ebay.

Where did you get your sj cameras from ?
Look on the flea bay is a minefield
prices £100 to £10
Need camera, waterproof case and mount ( most likely handle  / mirror ) need loop sj5000 has it but not sure about 9000
Decided  would like other options than just dash cam alone

There are fake SJCAMS out there, probably the reason for the cost difference.
Have a look at this........

if you search you should find other information to help you decide how much of your hard earned you should part with.

As Mick said there are fake sjcams [mine included].
Ebay have some real Sjcam SJ4000 for £40
