Rejoining Traitors Corner
« on: October 05, 2018, 17:44:01 »
Hi all,

Well after my last post I decided that I wasn't ready to part with the Super Ten just yet. Fortunately however I found myself in a position where I could add to the stable without immediately getting rid - She will go up on here soon  :eusa-doh:

SO! its the best day of the year - New bike day! I want to get back into doing some silly off road stuff, its been far too long - So I took a test ride on a KTM 1090 R. What a machine. Initially I wasn't that impressed, bloody tall, really bloody tall (I'm just under 6ft 5ft6 and I can hardly touch the floor at all) also the seat is like a church pew. However after about 15 mins I started riding it like a big dirt bike, and all I can say is Wow! It goes like the clappers, brakes are perfect for the bike - looking forward to trying it off road.

I got a bit of deal on the bike, it has actually come from one of the events that KTM run - its got some more orange bits and a rad guard and luggage all for a decent price. I don't actually want the genuine luggage, however when I can afford ill sell it and swap to touratech.

Now its not often I have a good word to say about any visit to a dealer, esp being "young" as I tend to get overlooked. However, Premier Bikes of Didcot have been an absolute joy to deal with. Stuart has been very pleasant and genuinely wanted to work with me to get to a deal. We went all round the houses but in the end he couldn't move on price, but we negotiated that he would throw in the first service. I also stumped up and paid out for the centre stand (170 quid  :angry-banghead:). Que the big day - once again they have been a joy to deal with! Stuart made it feel very special and I couldn't be happy. As an added touch, the stand I ordered which was meant to be in stock, was actually for a standard model (their admin mistake). They apologised for the error and offered to fit it free of charge during the service next week! Well impressed!

And the important bit! Pictures

I have looked at a 1090 more than once as a potential replacement for the 990 when the inevitable time comes. It seems to be a reasonable compromise between nutjob level ponies and gutless, and between analogue 990 and the over digital 1190/1290.

Its beginning to look as if the future actually is orange.
Enjoy it, as if you needed telling.

"Rejoining" you say? You're a double Traitor now.

Nice looking machine too, and as Fat Rat points out, it's beakless
