Lovely warm morning and I set out on the Bonnie to meet some pals. As the A120 south met the A12 the traffic was stopped. I filtered for about a mile and came to a halt at a police vehicle. The chap in a nearby car said the road was shut to a motocyclist fatality and he had been there for an hour or so. The northbound carriageway was partitioned with bollards to allow traffic through while keeping the carnage out of sight. later a young chap on a lightweight bike arrived and bemoaned his fate in that he was on his way to Stanstead and was likely to miss his flight. I suggested he ask the group of bikers ahead if they could help his lift his bike over the central barrier so he could go north and re-route to Stanstead. We cleared it with the police on site and we all got together and heaved his bike over the barrier and he went on his way. He said "only bikers would help each other like this". Although I am guessing everyone was also a car driver. A blue Glee stopped nearby with a rider on his way to Devon. He said he was in the forum. Then the police waived us on. A lovely sunny, warm day. Not the sort of day I could imagine dying under a truck. So quickly things change.
