Differences between 2016 and 2017 vstrom 1000

Hello all I was looking to purchase a set of panniers for a 2016 vstrom 1000. I settled on the givi v35 panniers but found that they only list the plxr 3114 racks for the 2017 vstrom 1000. I was wondering what difference if any are there between the 2 bikes. I have spoken to Suzuki and the givi importer but they couldn't answer my question.

Maybe have a look at the fitting instructions for the 2018 bike? Superficially it all looks the same, like they should fit

Yeah they look the same but I know the givi top box supports are different  for the two models ( something to do with the cross over support) so maybe a few other small changes.
I'd like to know as I've a 14 Veek and a set of v35's sitting in the garage this last 3 years!

I did look at the pdf instructions yes they do look similar and the plr 3105 pannier racks for the aluminium boxes are the same for both models. Maybe the exhaust sits differently on each model.
