Gear indicator
« on: August 07, 2018, 17:53:51 »
The gear indicator on the dash of my 63 plate DL650 keeps changing numbers without me changing gears. Is this a common problem and is it easy to put right, many thanks Bob N. :icon_exclaim:

Hi Bob! And welcome to the forum. Maybe introduce yourself in the intro section? :thumb:

Meanwhile, it's not unheard of (though unusual) for the gear position indicator (GPI) switches to go haywire. Located under the front sprocket, it seems. Try cleaning it first, before replacing. Could even be a wiring issue. There is a thread on stromtroopers forum HERE with pics and advice from the sadly missed 'greywolf' about this.
