I recently had an electrical problem with my DL650 K6. The battery showed 12.5v but would not turn over the starter. It turned out to be a dodgy battery - once I'd replaced it with another one everything worked again.
While trying to find the fault, I checked the ignition switch with the connector unplugged. The continuity was correct as per the diagram in the Haynes manual (though the wire colours are more like a later switch), but there was a 99 ohm resistance between the red wire (from main fuse) and orange/green wire (to ECM). Does anyone know if this is correct? Is there is a resistor in the switch? I tried operating the switch many times and squirting in contact cleaner but the reading stayed the same.
I'm just asking out of curiosity, since the bike is working OK now.
