Hello Jim,I fitted a pair of lowering links to a mates new bike a couple of days ago. They fitted very easily and dropped it 25mm.This is the item number on Fleabay:110916691908.They were only £15 delivered.I then dropped the forks 15mm.We went on a 200 mile run to The Ponderosa Cafe and he said it’s a great improvement as he can use the standard seat now instead of the low seat which is not to comfortable.

Hi

How short is sort? I'm 5ft 4in with a 29in inside leg. I've got the low seat which adds that extra bit of confidence and on a 250 mile trip round Wales I found it comfortable enough.

I have also been running the standard seat as a test and I reckon that once I am more used to the bike I may refit that. Only had it a couple of months.

Was steered away from the lowering option as depending on how low you go it can upset the geometry of the bike and require shortening of the side and centre stands.

Hi, I recently fitted the same 25mm lowering dog bones off ebay and dropped the forks by about 15mm. Cannt say I noticed much difference in handling - but is easier to paddle about as the Vstrom is quite heavy with the weight high up, and easier when you stop and discover loose gravel and the ground sloping away...... It has made it more difficult to get on the centre stand, but still possible. I did have to file the side stand stop to get the bike to lean over enough though - it seemed a bit unstable on the stand otherwise. It is very quick and easy to fit the new dogbones.

I fitted a lower seat, made a big difference and did't have to alter suspension, I found it comfortable enough.

PS: the low seat is for sale as I am now going back to the standard seat now I am used to the bike.
