2015 DL650 fuel feed hose removal ?
« on: July 22, 2018, 13:16:14 »
Hello folks,

I'm trying to save a little cash and carry out the interim service on my 2015 Wee myself. This involves inspecting the spark plugs and air filter - to which end I'm trying to remove the fuel tank.

All going well until I come to the point of trying to remove the fuel feed line from the bottom of the tank - see attachment - black with a blue inner fitting. I've stopped before I damage something because I just cannot disconnect this hose. :angry-banghead: It looks as though you pinch together the blue inner section and the whole lot (blue and black) comes off, leaving just the silver metal pipe.

Can anyone advise how they managed to removed this fitting please ?

Any advice much appreciated !

Regards

Tim

Thanks Rusty Nuts,

Will give the cable tie tip a try - then it's just down to persistence over-coming resistance !

The blue bit stays on the bottom of the tank, disconnecting from the black connector bit of the pipe.

not one of Suzuki's finest idea's but perseverance is needed and a strong grip, then when you think you will never get it off it will slide open, not good

The connection is stronger that you may realise but it's designed to withstand fuel pressure so it will put up a fight on removal.
I use a either my hands , a cable tie or a mini set of pliers or a work colleague to help .
Yes , they are a bugger but persistence will pay off , good luck ..
