Hi folks to avoid depreciation just keep the bike in good condition and enjoy it after all that's why you bought it , don't be buying the latest model every couple of years and look out for bikes that have already depreciated there are plenty of good low mileage bikes out there if you look hard enough . I recently found a 1992 BMW R80RT almost mint with 21,000 miles on it at less than the cost of a new 125 ,new tyres and oil/filter change and goes like a guddun.
