DL1000 k5 starting issues
« on: June 28, 2018, 07:46:34 »
Hello. I have problem with my bike. Sometimes, only when is cold, I turn ignition on and bike does not crank immediately. It takes sometimes 1, 2sec and then cranks. Sometimes I have to put ignition off and on. It only happens when I start bike  after night when cold. Never happened when is hot. What it can be?

Fuel pump primes, starting switch cleaned, clutch switch and side stand switches not checked yet. Not happening all the time.

My money is on clutch switch. Mine did it, cheap and easy fix.
Couple of squirts of wd40 used to get me a couple of days without problem but then syptoms came back. I got genuine part cost about £20 but ebay specials are about a £10 and no doubt are just as good.

I had other problem as well but is now sorted. It was dying after long motorway rides. It turned that throttle bodies jump out of it's places O_O
