I know it is a head off job really, but someone may have come up with something new!! Much grease and patience, fit a threaded insert instead of a coil followed bay a damn good inspection and pick-out of any bits is the cheap way - if you could get in!!
As you say Fat Rat, it's not a big job to remove the head, just a pain.
