Fuel Leak
« on: April 14, 2018, 09:14:41 »
Hi
Have a DL1000 2008, been laid up during the winter. Noticed a fuel leak from underside of tank yesterday, can't really see where from exactly. Seems to be very Intermittent. Took bike for test with no problems. Anybody have any ideas?

You probably don't want to ride it if you have a fuel leak...

Usual suspects are hoses/connectors

Lift the tank and have a look. Then spread some kitchen roll under it, leave overnight, and check it in the morning.

Is from the connector to the tank? Statistically (apparently) the usual culprit on the V's is the shortish, fat, connector hose as below link. Scroll down to Mr Greywolfs explanation!

Have a look at this link. I had the same problem on my 2007 DL1000, with a bit of luck just replacing the clamps cure the problem.

Some of us have to make a living don't you know

Getting an aftermarket single length pipe pipe will be fairly straight forward, getting a Tee'd pipe the correct length may be a bit harder.
