I'm undecided about whether to sell as is or spend a little and get it MOT'd, so I'm going to put this out here and see if anyone's interested in doing a little work to get a lot of bike.
In the spirit of the board, and because I F***IN' DESPISE people who sell vehicles and fail to disclose faults, this is going to be as honest a description of the bike as I can manage. If anyone's keen I'll drag it out for a photo shoot.
'57 plate DL1000 GT. Grey. 61,000m
Full luggage. Heated grips. Touring screen. 25mm raiser kit.
K&N filter. Iridium plugs. Scorpion cans. I still have the stock cans.
Bought with 4950 on the clock, this has served me extremely well. So well that I bought another one, mainly because I used this one for long commutes & racked up the miles.
It's always been serviced at the proper intervals. It has a gold DID X ring chain & sprocket set. Plenty of life in that and the BT021 tyres.
Now the ropey bits!
The bike failed it's MOT because 'Steering movement is excessively 'notchy' with the wheel raised' (bearing then). Advisories include a worn chain sprocket carrier and a light misting on the shock. There is also a slight oil leak.
One side of the engine bars has a crack. The left side fairing has a crack in it. There are wear marks on the engine casing from my boots.
So, all in all, if it were MOT'd and running I'd prolly be looking for £2200.
Anyone interested in spending a few hours and £250 and getting a grunty beast of a commuter/courier bike? Make me a sensible offer?
