My experience with the versys 1000 has been satisfactory. But not as big as with my old vstrom 650. The engine of the versys is powerful and gives great sensations, but on mountain roads is not as manageable as the vstrom. The versys 1000, is also more comfortable and brakes better than vstrom. I can not have complaints of the Versys, but the fun that gives me the vstrom is superior.

I've have been very surprised with the handling on of 650 (mine an '07).
I have tested it well in the Black Forest, in the Swiss & Italian Alps whilst keeping up my mate on his VFR800 Vtec and on some of the faster roads in Wales.

It's a very capable bike, I'd love an 800 version.
