Standard rack
« on: April 23, 2017, 17:42:55 »
Just fitted my Givi V56 Maxia to the standard rack on my Veek and I'm not overly impressed. I've fitted the plate as far forward on the rack as I can, without it being intrusive on the passenger, but there seems to be a lot of unsupported overhang, and the whole thing flex's a fair bit. Its difficult to engage the locking mechanism due to the flex.
This is with the box empty, what's it going to be like with some weight in it? Has anyone else noticed this?

Had the same problems with mine, though not Maxia but smaller E370 Tech Givi box. Ended up buying Givi plate with supporting tubes SR3105M and now it's OK.
For yours it's SR3105.

I thought the original rack had too much flex as well, so I added a Givi SRA3105 adaptor and it seems strong enough. Has the extra support tubes to the sub frame. Topbox still seems to over hang a fair amount though.

The Givi adaptor was the answer for me as well. Couldn't fit the back rest to the box as it restricted the room for the pillion too much.

Thanks for the replies chaps, I thought this might be the case. I've just spent £44 on an E251 universal plate,  looks good and works well, apart from the flex. The overhang exaggerates the flex, so unless I can figure out a support bracket I'm going to have to take it off and buy a 3105. Bugger!
