Oil Pressure Warning Light At Idle
« on: March 30, 2017, 21:45:31 »
Evening All,

I have an AK7 Wee with around 45k on the clock. The last couple of times I've taken it out, once the bike comes up to full temp the oil warning light starts to flicker at idle and will then eventually show the light permanently at idle. As soon as I touch the throttle, even slightly, the light disappears. The red light is accompanied by the oil symbol but no FI on the clock. Bike appears to run perfectly, oil level spot on etc. Could this be a bad sensor and, if so, is it easily replaced?

Thanks All :)

That is the most likely situation. It's next to the oil filter on the left with a wire running to it as viewed from the front of the bike and is easily replaced. It would be good to do that soon as there is a remote possibility the oil pressure could actually be low.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s
